WELCOME MESSAGE FROM 2026 PELS CHAIR PDG MARY SHACKLETON
Dear Presidents-Elect and Assistant Governors Serving in 2026-27:

On behalf of my fellow committee members, especially the District Governors-Elect who will serve alongside you during the next Rotary Year, welcome to the refreshed website for the 2026 Mid-Northeast President-Elect Learning Seminar to be held at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, NJ, from Thursday, March 26, 2026, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.  My teammates have been hard at work for the last six months preparing a program with one focus - YOU!   We are thrilled that you have taken the time to visit our webpage.  Why not take this opportunity to register for both the Seminar and your hotel room?

Why should you attend, even if you have previously served as president or assistant governor?

  • You will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge as a Rotary leader by participating in sessions facilitated by seasoned learning leaders, hearing keynote remarks from inspiring plenary speakers, and, most importantly, networking with your peers!  What you take-away may just make your service as president or assistant governor a little easier and a lot more impactful.
  • If you will serve as president or AG for the first time, this is your opportunity to ask questions, learn some essential skills, and start building your own Rotary network.
  • If you are one of our amazing encore leaders, why not come and serve Rotary by sharing your best practices with other attendees?  We have created content with you in mind, so YOU may just learn something new, too.  And make new lifetime friends and project partners in Rotary.
  • For many regular attendees, this is hands-down one of the most meaningful events in Rotary that we participate in.  And, yes, we HAVE FUN!

We are excited to launch new programming content this year, including:

  • An optional Thursday evening ONESUMMIT which will demonstrate the synergies between membership, humanitarian service/The Rotary Foundation, and public image and how working in concert they will help us achieve the goals in ROTARY'S ACTION PLAN.
  • Rotary Roundtables that use concepts from "speed" dating to create a lively, fast-paced introduction to various Rotary topics and resources.
  • A hands-on project (food packaging) that will enable us to be of service while building personal connections.

Presidents-Elect, your attendance is the easiest way to ensure that you are qualified to serve as president next Rotary Year.  In many districts, your club is assessed for your registration and related fees in advance.  So please be a careful steward of club funds by making every effort to attend or sending one of your fellow board members if that is not possible.  We promise to make every effort to make your effort worthwhile.

The committee and I look forward to welcoming you in person on March 26-28.  Keep coming back to this webpage for the latest updates.

Stay amazing!

Yours in Rotary,

Mary Eileen Shackleton
