District Governor Elect ’25-’26
In addition to currently serving as District 7490 Governor Elect, Cindy was elected twice as President of the Rotary Club of Secaucus, prior to assuming the roles of Asst. Governor, District Interact Chair, Chairperson of the 2024 P.E.T.S. Evaluation Committee, District Youth Services Chairperson, MNE PELS Curriculum Committee, and the NJ Rotary Committee. She strongly advocates for the advancement of Interact in more school districts, Rotaract in local universities, and enthusiastically supported implementation of RYLA at Caldwell University. Within her own Rotary Club, Cindy has distinguished herself by growing membership post Covid, providing laptops for remote learning for needy students, providing necessities for newborns and their moms, implementing “Music Mends Minds” for senior citizens, implementing “Breakfast of Champions” to support local foodbanks and veterans, providing C.P.R. training in elementary schools, and most recently working towards seeking funding to provide medical care in Ghana. She avidly supports involving younger people, and those of diverse backgrounds in Rotary in local communities. “The key to building membership is to keep our youth involved through Interact, RYLA, and Rotaract, maintaining ongoing contact, through an updated data system”. Cindy has a strong commitment to creating a thriving Rotary District, through effective collaboration, communication, planning, and positive community and state-wide exposure of all things Rotary, committing time and effort to unifying Rotary, within her involvement on the NJ Rotary Committee
Cindy brings her extensive experience in Education, to enriching her work, in varied positions in Rotary, especially in preparation for District Governor. Although challenging remaining engaged in Rotary, while serving as District Superintendent of Schools in New Jersey, Cindy was always committed to Rotary Service Above Self. Prior to her New Jersey administrative experiences, she thoroughly enjoyed the challenging experience of her work in the New York City School System, progressing from K-12 teacher to Principal. She’s currently an educational consultant, and mentor to district administrators. Throughout her distinguished career, Cindy served on numerous committees and boards, highlighting her expertise in Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Program Evaluation, Bullying Prevention, Social Emotional Learning, Substance Abuse Prevention, World Languages, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, to name a few. Working within local universities, she created academies for high school students, seeking an associate degree. She sees the future of Rotary in promoting Interact, RYLA, and Rotaract within high schools and universities, while advancing young people’s lifelong commitment to Rotary. Cindy been a presenter at state, national, and international conferences. Cindy believes that she was personally and professionally enriched through her exposure to multicultural environments, international studies, and professional work in urban and suburban areas, which has served to further her commitment to Rotary Service.
